WELSH LADY!

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

This is an everyday, simple job that only required a sophisticated-looking lady to represent the product. The model today was Anna, we concluded that she is one of the most beautiful girl ever to come from Wales (our favorite girl so far for June/July).  I worked with her three times in a row in one week.  So that makes today four times. It’s an advertorial for GE Central Master Card.

The outfits for today came from Thai designers, Tube Gallery & Nopparat, and also international designers, Karen Millen & Vivienne Tam. For the advert we portrayed the sophisticated women who is the target of the product for both the ‘Gold Card’ and ‘Platinum Card’.

We shot with a white sheet in the background to create interesting lighting effects on the model, before finishing everything on computer along with the graphics and the layout. And here is the finished product, the result of hard work from all everyone involved! Including you too Anna ;-))

BRITAIN FROM THE NORTH, PART I

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

I’ve been quite busy with work for the past few weeks. Sorry Shane that I didn’t update my blog, but thanks for giving me a kick-start. This is second trip aboard in 2 months. It couldn’t be anywhere else but England, and this time I’m heading for the North!

Having English breakfast in the morning, bitter in the afternoon, and wine at night. Every single day I feel fatter and fatter!!!

I’ve been going to the oldest wine bar in London ‘Gordon’s Wine Bar‘. It’s between Embankment and Charing Cross train stations. I really like the rotten feel inside, as it makes me feel like I’m in a Harry Potter movie having butter beer ;-))

After spending a few days wondering around London, visiting museums and galleries, and going to the theatre I’m now in the North. A few days in Manchester before stopping in Bury for breakfast, then the sweet shop  in Ramsbottom, Lancashire, on the way to Blackpool.

With our pockets stuffed with sweets we headed to the tourist hotspot of Blackpool. We had a lot of fun at the Pleasure Beach. Rode the PEPSI MAX rollercoaster, after queueing for an hour – a long time but worth the wait!

Before driving up to the Lake we had a Fish & Chips supper on the seafront in Fleetwood (north of Blackpool). It seemed like a good idea, but wind was so strong and cold, and our suppers went cold very quickly. So we had to find shelter behind some wall to keep us and the supper warm. Then enjoyed an amazing sunset.

And that was our day in Blackpool.  Then we headed to the Lake District!

ARABIAN NIGHTS

13

Iran might not be the ideal place for many people, especially Westerners, to visit, but for me it was the opportunity of a life time! It was a trip for Honeymoon & Travel. Me and crew weren’t sure what to expect in Iran.

I was in Iran in 2008 when there so much negative press, so everyone wasn’t sure whether is was safe or not to go there. But while we were there everything seem calm and normal, nothing like the news.

The only thing I wasn’t keen on was the food. Well, I just don’t like Middle-eastern and India food, and also Chinese food. I mean Chinese food in China, as it’s just too oily for me. I’m okay with Chinese food in Thailand as it’s not as oily.

We went to a small village and visited an old mansion in Kashan. Some people wore Persian clothes mixed with Islamic clothes.

The most beautiful thing I saw during the trip was the Mosque in Isfahan. It’s one of the most stunning places I’ve ever been! Even though it was being renovated. The building was huge and simply beautiful.

After shooting some pictures at the mosque, we did some shopping in the square in front of the mosque. I bought a Persian rug and lots of Persian tote bags – all of them very colourful and beautifully decorated.

If I have another chance to go to Iran I would love to go to Persepolis, Mesopotamia. I felt very sad that we only had 10 days in Iran – not enough time by far. So I wish to return some day.

Here it is. The advert with the hairy jacket that I made for Central Department Store in Thailand. This job require not only styling skill but also the sewing skill too. The jacket was an adapted version from Martin Margiela collection.

Even though the jacket inspired by Margiela collection, the jacket was designed to have a more McQueen feels than sober Margiela. This monthly campaigns is link with the special performance from French magician, Laurent Beretta, at Central for three days.

This is why the girl have to wear something unusual but stylish. The campaign will launch at the end of this month at all Central Department Store, Bangkok, Thailand.
