One thing certain, Versace selected superb tunes for their runway show this season. The list of songs was appropriate for Versace’s vibrant gory 80s theme. Regardless of the economic situation in Italy, Versace is breaking all rules by sending out army of men in psychedelic flower prints and bright, stand out colours – bright red, lime green, canary yellow and azure blue. While the stars of the show are the parade of denim and leather selections which are heavily decorated with diamonds, gold coins and gold chains.

ไม่มีอะไรแน่นอนในช่วงวิกฤตเศรษฐกิจ แต่สิ่งหนึ่งที่แน่นอนในฤดูกาลนี้โดยการออกแบบของ Donatella Versace คือเธอ ‘ไม่หวาดหวั่นแม้วันมามาก’ ในขณะที่ห้องเสื้ออื่นๆส่งขบวนพาเรดเสื้อผ้า ที่มาในแบบมาม่าคัพนู๊ดเดิ้ล (ใส่ง่าย สำเร็จรูป) แต่ที่ Versace เสื้อผ้าทั้งหมดถูกออกแบบด้วยสีสันฉูดฉาด ทุกตารางนิ้วบนเนื้อผ้าเต็มไปด้วยลวดลาย นี่คือคอลเล็คชั่นที่คนใส่ต้องใช้สมองคิดนิดนึงว่าจะใส่อะไรเพิ่มดี หรือควรหยิบอะไรออกเพื่อไม่ให้กลายเป็นตัวตลก

อย่างไรก็แล้วแต่นี่คือการกลับมาของความเป็น Versace อย่างแท้จริง แบบพิมพ์ดีเอ็นเอที่เคยโด่งดังตั่งแต่ทศวรรตที่ 80s ซึ่งจางหายไปหลังจากการตายของ Gianni Versace ได้กลับมาอีกครั้ง ในที่นี้เราไม่ได้พูดถึงเสื้อเชิ้ตผ้าไหมพิมพ์ลาย แบบที่นักการเมืองไทยฮิตในช่วงนึง (กรุณานึกภาพ พล.ต. สนั่น ขจรประศาสตร์ ในช่วงยุค 90s) แต่พวกมันคือขบวนพาเรดเสื้อแจ๊กเก็ตยีนส์ และเสื้อแจ๊กเก็ตหนัง ที่ตกแต่งด้วยเพชร โซ่ และกระดุมทองอย่างวิจิตรตระการตา

There’s a mix of good and bad in this collection. The denim selection for me is a bit too over the top. Also there’s nothing for the businessmen to wear next season at Versace. But on a different note, many of the clothes in this collection will fit perfectly well for parties and causal wear.

My favourite part of the show is when the clothes go heavy with the military references. I love how military camouflage patterns have been transformed into vivid psychedelic flowers – not to blend in with their surroundings, but instead, to shout out. Not sure whether these clothes will be a success when they hit the shop floor, but I’m sure they’ll be a hit in the fashion press. They will be fighting to be the first edition to get their hands on the clothes.

ในฤดูกาลนี้มีทั้งสิ่งที่น่าติ และสิ่งที่น่าชื่นชม ขบวนชุดผ้ายีนส์ในช่วงต้นของโชว์ที่ตกแต่งด้วยโซ่ และกระดุมทอง เป็นอะไรที่ค่อนข้างน่าเกลียด นี่ยังโชคดีที่ Versace เป็นแบรนด์อิตาลี่ มิเช่นนั้นคงโดนค่อนแคะว่าเอาเสื้อจากย่านประตูน้ำมาทำโชว์ แต่กระนั้นก็ยังมีหลายๆลุคในฤดูกาลนี้ที่เหมาะที่จะใส่ไปงานสังสรรค์ เสื้อผ้าเหล่านี้จะทำให้คุณเป็นดาวเด่น แบบไม่ต้องเกรงใจใคร

ช่วงที่น่าชื่นชมที่สุดของโชว์คงเป็นช่วงที่เสื้อผ้าเริ่มดูเป็นทหารมากขึ้น ลวดลายพรางทหารที่มีจุดประสงค์เพื่อซ่อนตัวถูกออกแบบใหม่ให้กลายเป็นดอกไม้สีสันสดใสที่มีจุดประสงค์เพื่อการปรากฏตัว ก็ไม่แน่ใจว่าจะขายดีหรือไม่แต่อย่างใด แต่ที่แน่ใจได้คือพวกมันจะกลายเป็นลุคที่เหล่าบรรดา บ.ก.แฟชั่น จะต้องตบตีแย่งชิงกันเพื่อถ่ายภาพแฟชั่นลงนิตยสารก่อนใคร

There’s nothing much in terms of accessories to excite us. The boots and tote bags aren’t good enough, in my opinion, when compared to all work that has gone into making the elaborate clothes. The only accessories that are worth mentioning are army beret hats that encrusted with pins and brooches – diamonds, crucifixes, pearl buttons and the house’s signature Medusa head.

เครื่องประดับในฤดูกาลนี้ไม่มีอะไรโดดเด่นที่สามารถพูดถึงได้เลย รองเท้าบู้ทที่ใช้ในโชว์ทุกคู่ก็หาได้น่าตื่นเต้นไม่ จะมีก็เพียงแต่หมวกผ้าสักหลาดบาเรท์ที่น่าสนใจ พวกมันถูกตกแต่งด้วยเพชร ไม้กางเขน กระดุมมุก และแน่นอนสัญลักษณ์ประจำห้องเสื้ออย่างหัวเมดูซ่านั่นเอง
