It was jazzy and wonderful way to heaven, route 66. This is New Orleans and Albuquerque, New Mexico. I was there for Honeymoon & Travel magazine’s fashion shooting. The trip started with 27 hours fight from Bangkok – with one stop at Narita airport, Japan, then Chicago until we reached New Orleans and Albuquerque at the end.

We started work right away in the next morning in New Orleans. The first location was the famous dough café called ‘Cafe Du Monde’. We did our fashion shoots in there and had our breakfast too.

For me the dough was not different from a Thai desert called Pa-Tong-Ko (a flour fried in oil for having with soya milk or congee.) The differences were that they served with icing sugar on the top and every bite I took I felt very fat. It’s exactly the same feeling when I’m having a Krispy Kreme doughnut!

The cafe insides decorated with lots of French colonial features as New Orleans has so many influent from French. There was also a lot of Voodoo things in New Orleans too.

One of the most interesting night was when we went to have a dinner in town. It was a Jazz bar and restaurant. The restaurant owner treated us very well. We were very enjoyed the wine and live jazz in the restaurant!

We also went for a nice trip along the Mississippi rivers. It was a very nice sunny day and we had a lot of fun.

After a couple of days in New Orleans we headed to Albuquerque, New Mexico, for the route 66 road – the road that run pass Chicago, Illinois, through Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California before ending at Los Angeles, encompassing a total of 2,448 miles (3,940 km)

We visited the stunning Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort and Spa and had a breakfast there. The hotel surrounded by many beautiful mountains with interesting activities offered for their guests such as horse riding and a balloon trip.

That afternoon we went for a lunch in the Route 66 café. They serve mainly hamburger. In my view, It’s very unhealthy food and I definitely not recommended.

And this would be another trip I will remember very well. Here is the link of Albuquerque fashion for Honeymoon & Travel. I will put the New Orleans fashion up the page soon if I’m not too lazy ;-))

I’m not in Tokyo at this time but am in Sendai and Kobe. Here Cherry blossom are everywhere for about a week to enjoy in April. This was a chance to experience some authentic Japanese apart from manga and Harajuku girls.

We stay in very nice and traditional hotel and yes it has a hot spring here. So basically life here apart from working with fashion shooting for Honeymoon & Travel, it is about sight seeing around town, relaxing in hot spring and yes having a big Japanese feat most of the meal!

The food we have here are much more a surprise. Every evening at the hotel they always serve some kind of feat to us (am already forgot what it called in Japanese). It had all kind of Japanese food you could imagine including ‘uni’ or Sea Urchin (I must say I don’t really like it, but well I’m not a raw food lover anyway). So every dinner, food will start serve one after another (sure lot of Sake too) for over two and a half hours. It absolutely made me felt like a KING!!!!!

I also had a chance to try fresh young Sake that not look like Sake but MILK in Sendai.. It has very sweet taste with a strong alcohol. I must confess I’m not enjoy that much would prefer a normal Sake to drink than sweet alcohol!

And when am in Kobe, What else could it be but try the best beef in Japan and I want to assure you all.. IT THE BEST BEEF I’VE EVER TRY! and everyone should try when you are there.

At the very last day we stop by doing some shopping and I brought some interesting stuffs from Issey Miyake and Comme Des Garçon (there are pretty much cheap in here compare to Bangkok and London, I mean quite reasonably price here) before pack our bags and head to the airport. And I hope in very very near future I be back there in Japan real soon.
