laos temple

Laos is the place that like our bother, Thailand. Even though, we speak different language but it pretty much close on the sound and meaning. I think it is because we come from the same route of language.

We arrived in vientiane everything here clam and peaceful.. well, more than Bangkok for sure. We start working right away by start shooting some shot at the local temple around town. The temple here look very stunning. It look old, authentic and very beautiful. I feel like they all could be a paradise resort hotel somewhere in the east because it just look so amazing.

After many shot round temple, we did the shot around Vientiane street too including their victory monument. Laos people around the street are very friendly and they seem relax all the time.

I can get the feeling that It would be a perfect place for someone who want some peace in their life would find Laos a real heaven on earth.

In the night after the shooting we went to the night life of Vientiane and find out that in this city most teenager will go to one place called ‘Center Point’ just to have a Soya Milk drink and have a chat with their friend.. how CUTE of teenager here. This somehow not happen in Bangkok now as teenager seem go out just for a beer or alcohol.. not for a Soya milk!

wpp-stylish

After having long hair for 15 year because I believe that short hair is so not me! Then I’ve finally cut it short at last and took a picture for 4th Anniversary of Wallpaper* magazine Thai edition, August 09 issue : New creative elite. People who can shape the future of this country. And it turn out short hair not bad at all… The magazine featuring people in lot of categories such as artist, art activist, architecture, interior designer, fashion designer and etc. My picture was taken to put in Stylist page along with two other Thai stylist .

At the interview shoot everyone has their own model along with the article. For me, my fashion start about 1990. It all about grunge fashion and haute couture at that time. I think my inspiration and who am I today mostly come from the magazine called ‘Dutch’.

Dutch was an Avant-Grade fashion magazine that only last for 40 issue at the late 90s but it leave a big mark to my heart (I still keep all those old issue as a diamond in my collection). It’s about how cheap grunge and expensive couture meet each other, it is about ‘Dress down couture’. The magazine really shape what I am today interm of my beauty perception. The magazine speak out loud about the beauty of not perfection, the beauty of the uglyness!

I styling my model wearing a gorgeous red velvet coat from Prada mix with customised grunge T-shirt I made myself, also Chanel gold chain necklace and hat from Thai designer and sure Dr.Martens boots.

The magazine out now in Thailand. And man!!! I look like just turning 20 in the picture.. 10 year youger, HOW’S LOVELY!!!…. ;-))

A HAIRY JACKET

Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

2ndLAY_03

Here it is… a job with a hairy jacket that I made for Central Department Store Advert in Thailand. This is a job in this month that not only require my styling but also some sewing skill too. This was inspired by the jacket from Martin Margiela

but I decided to made it look more like McQueen style… as McQueen style would look more fierce and modern than somber Margiela version…. The campaign is about the special month sale at Central department Store with a famous magician from France, Laurent Beretta, to show in Thailand at Central for three days.

So that why the picture required some magical non-natural clothes but still not look over the top as it is the style of Central. (Paragon and Emporium department store, competition department store in Bangkok of Central, would be more fantasy styling and very very over the top image!)

I’m not in Tokyo at this time but am in Sendai and Kobe. Here Cherry blossom are everywhere for about a week to enjoy in April. This was a chance to experience some authentic Japanese apart from manga and Harajuku girls.

We stay in very nice and traditional hotel and yes it has a hot spring here. So basically life here apart from working with fashion shooting for Honeymoon & Travel, it is about sight seeing around town, relaxing in hot spring and yes having a big Japanese feat most of the meal!

The food we have here are much more a surprise. Every evening at the hotel they always serve some kind of feat to us (am already forgot what it called in Japanese). It had all kind of Japanese food you could imagine including ‘uni’ or Sea Urchin  (I must say I don’t really like it, but well I’m not a raw food lover anyway). So every dinner, food will start serve one after another (sure lot of Sake too) for over two and a half hours. It absolutely made me felt like a KING!!!!!

I also had a chance to try fresh young Sake that not look like Sake but MILK in Sendai.. It has very sweet taste with a strong alcohol. I must confess I’m not enjoy that much would prefer a normal Sake to drink than sweet alcohol!

And when am in Kobe, What else could it be but try the best beef in Japan and I want to assure you all.. IT THE BEST BEEF I’VE EVER TRY! and everyone should try when you are there.

At the very last day we stop by doing some shopping and I brought some interesting stuffs from Issey Miyake and Comme Des Garçon (there are pretty much cheap in here compare to Bangkok and London, I mean quite reasonably price here) before pack our bags and head to the airport. And I hope in very very near future I be back there in Japan real soon.
