It’s always challenging to create the fashion spreads for The Quarterly, the supplement magazine that comes with The Week magazine. This is my second issue and I got the chance to create lots of amazing shoots for them.

I spent almost a week preparing and calling in for the shoot. This second issue was quite easy for me as most of the PR companies already knew me. Therefore I got lots of amazing samples from many brands including some that I didn’t even ask for being sent for the shooting too. All my stuff at Show Media office just kept piling up and it took almost all the space of the hallway, oh dear! (there were 7 fashion sets for this Summer issue)

I also made some props for the shoot myself. For the luggage story, Mr Perry, Art Director of The Quarterly, wanted to have the story inspired by Mondrian painting. I took the concept and worked on the products that represent the colour themes of Mondrian’s work.

The main question was how to built a shelf big enough to put 10 massive size pieces of luggage? And the answer was to build a scale model shelf and photograph the suitcases separately, and the technology would do the rest!

Working for The quarterly is the best thing to happen to me in London. And while I’m writing this the Autumn issue shooting is happening soon. Big thanks to Mr Perry who had the trust in me and giving me the opportunity to do this. I love you big time x

The more I work the more I love it! This is the best still-life fashion for The Quarterly summer 2011 issue. With this fashion story I challenged myself to make it better than the last issue with the idea of adding as many as products per page as possible. The result? It turned out really well and these 2 double-page spreads are packed with 83 stylish items. Can you believe it!

I spent 3 days doing extensive research on products before calling in all the items that I needed, and another day working in the studio to create these lovely fashion spreads.

A surprising thing was that we spend less time on this fashion set than we did for the spring issue. I guess experience gained from the last shoot enable me to plan and work more efficiently.

As usual, we started very early in the day. While waiting for the photographer to set up all lighting, I worked on selecting the products in the last stage to make sure I got everything I needed and they all fitted together.

With everything planned in advance the shoot took only 6 hours to produce stunning images for the magazine. I’m so proud and very happy with this fashion set, which is why I’d like to share it with you.

There are more amazing fashion sets in the same issue that I will post later. Keep watching this space! Happy summer everyone :-))

One of the best holiday I’ve ever had in 2008! This city beat 130 other European cities to gain first place in European Tourism City of the Year in June 2007. In this cute little town, they’re not about cheesy tourist story but a true heritage. The city has so many unique views hidden in every corner of the street. It like a treasure game where you wondering around for a gems after gems.

It took about two hours to York from Rochdale, Manchester. The trip started with a 12th century church, Rochdale Parish Church St.Chad’s, where I had breakfast and took some pictures with the first Co-Op of the UK.

Then I jumped on the train, after about an hour, I stop at Leed and did some sight seeing. I went to Harvey Nichols’s sale season. What I found in Harvey Nic’s sale was a lovely shoes from Dries Van Noten and it was very cheap, something that wouldn’t left in the sale in London!

In York, I spent an hour looking for a lovely hotel to stay and end up with one little cute B&B hotel that had picture of a lovely cat at the window, I knew right away this is the place I want to stay ;-)) A time in York was so lovely. It has so many cute little boutiques and a lot of things to see and taste. Basically we spent a lot of time explore from day to night. What’s a lovely life!

The hi-light of the town would be the Minster itself. It is one of the largest gothic styles cathedral in Northern Europe alongside Cologne Cathedral. York minster resurrected so many time from destroying since 627AD. It took half of a century to made it today. This cathedral has been there as a house of god for over 1,000 years! What a history!

Inside the Minster is so much bigger than the outside. The building contained the biggest stain glass window in European and the hall were designed with high ceiling. There are statues of English Kings decorated on the wall while all the statues of angels and saints are beheaded as a result of King Henry VIII turned England into Protestant.

After the Minster, I went for a long walk along the city wall. I also visited the old king castle site that today nothing more than a crumble of a rock.

The last night in York was mainly about bitter and wine. I did pretty well went in and out many pub, drank lots of wines and beers.
